verbose_query - not working

Hi,
Im trying to create a script to handle statistics about maraDNS. So I
tried to set verbose_level to 3 and verbose_query to 1 in order to get
messages about queries in /var/log/messages, the place where also the
start and stop messages are located.

But after a restart, nothing changed. Still no message about what was
queried.

You hv a hint what I am doing wrong?
Which queries will be logged?
I missed sth?
