SOLVED! Why doesn't Maradns start at boot time?

For the record, Sam, Debian does have a README.Debian but it is completely
silent on this topic... as well as several others that do puzzle me. For
instance, I'd love to know why my Debian install of mara starts mara as user
99 but the maradns group and user on my server are 106 and 108 respectively.
I've wondered if this has any effect on mara running as a chroot'ed task;
but I don't know how to tell.
Professionally, I agree changes of this type made local to a particular
Linux release should be thoroughly documented and not left up to the
installer to discover on his own. As my case shows, we're often the least
well informed and the last to figure out such details.
I still think your product is the best choice for me and others like me,
Sam. I hand picked it personally after carefully evaluating the various
alternatives. You've done a fine job on the mara docs too.
And like it or not, I'm pretty much stuck with my choice of Debian now that
I'm a full month into the server configuration setup process.
Thanks a lot for your product and the time and effort you've put into it!
Best Professional Regards,
Greg Platt

The issue is that the Debian package needs to revise all of the
MaraDNS docs to point out that the default mararc file is in
/etc/maradns/, or to have a very prominent README.debian that points
out that the mararc file is in /etc/maradns.
I am sure Jakko can look at and address this issue; I think, since
Mara's online docs say it's in /etc/mararc, but Debian needs it to be
in /etc/maradns/mararc, the best thing to do is to have a
README.debian pointing this out or to have an additional printf("NOTE:
The Debian build of MaraDNS has the mararc file in
/etc/maradns/mararc\n"); in the code run when MaraDNS is started up.
