OK, try this:

Just make your mararc file be one that is four lines long, like this:

ipv4_bind_addresses = "10.3.28.79"
chroot_dir = "/etc/maradns"
csv2 = {}
csv2["example.com."] = "db.example.com"

And see if the zoneserver still gives you the same error.
